For the last 10 years I have been making these inexpensive Christmas ornaments out of drink coasters from restaurants. I cover them with scrapbook paper and cardstock and then add embellishments. Our kids love to look at them every year and they have fun remembering Christmas' from the past and they usually have a good laugh as they see how each other has grown and changed over the years.
